Ecupaca is a small business located in Cuenca, Ecuador. It comes from the union of two words, Ecuador and Alpaca. Most of our products are made from alpaca, while others are made from different textiles that our amazing artisans created in a process that respects the animals and the land.
Although our offices are located in Cuenca, we have different providers located in the city of Otavalo and local artisans who bring their products from all around Ecuador. Our country
Ecuador is a small country located in South America. A mountain range divides the country into coastal, Andean, and Amazon regions. The Galápagos Islands are located 600 miles off the Pacific coast. Our small city, Cuenca, is located in the Andean region and it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our city
Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca, its full name, or just Cuenca, was founded in 1557 by the Spanish king Charles V. It is known that when the Spanish arrived, there was a community called the Inca-Cañari. The urban layout reflected this fusion with colonial houses in its core and an agricultural tint in its surroundings. Four main rivers cross the city: Tomebamba, Yanuncay, Tarqui and Machangara. The colonial architecture, along with its captivating and colorful traditional locales, is reflected in each of our products.Shopping at Ecuapaca
